If you’re looking for something to get you in the Christmas spirit… this is it!

I’ve been feeling a little *meh* recently. I took an impromptu 2ish week break from posting. I’ve been feeling incredibly tired and distracted. There have been a lot of moving pieces in my life recently and I don’t like feeling out of control. But a lot of the elements in my life have been out of my control. If you’re feeling this way, know that you’re not alone!

My distraction and lack of attention actually led me to this craft, and once I started, I couldn’t stop until I made four or so. The next day I made a few more. I think I would be happy making these everyday until Christmas, if I’m being honest. It’s one of those crafts that—once you figure it out—becomes a bit addicting.

For whatever reason, detailed work or crafts like this really help to refuel my soul. Whether you’re feeling similarly, or just want a super cute giant homemade snowflake, you should try this inexpensive craft. All you need are some kraft paper bags, scissors and hot glue!

This was my first challenge that I’ve done at someone else’s house and it came with its… challenges 😉

I’ve learned that with my schedule, being super intentional with my time and knowing what tools and supplies I need on hand for any given project. So much so, I think I’ll be creating some worksheets to help prepare YOU for when you tackle projects on the go.

Week 8 of the @oneroomchallenge in partnership with @apartmenttherapy is officially coming to a close today and while the projects are technically complete, we still have a few things left in here.

Just waiting on a few decor items stuck in transit, and then this room will be officially ready for baby boy! 💙

Anyone else feeling like they are ready to take a 8 week nap after this One Room Challenge? 😅

With the timeline around the ORC, it’s pretty easy to become overwhelmed and get lost in the grind of just completing a space.

If there’s one thing I learned this time around, it’s to take breaks to remember why I’m doing the project to begin with. And not just any type of break, but something that spurs creativity and slows you down. I don’t know why I put off painting this brick wall, because it was just what I needed to feel energized to get this room done!

Sure, you started the One Room Challenge to transform a space, but in reality you started DIYing because you enjoy the creative process of “doing”—so, don’t forget that!

It is one of the easiest ways to transform your space and it’s very beginner friendly. These planks come in an 8ft length, so if that’s the height of your ceilings, there is no cutting required!

And in my opinion, PRIMED boards is the only way to go! It cuts out the extra step of prepping everything for paint, so you can jump right into your project.

ONE of TWO feature walls down… ☝🏼 to go!

We’re in week six of the @oneroomchallenge in partnership with @apartmenttherapy and before I left on this trip to Arizona I rushed to get the faux brick wall done. To be honest, it looks even better than I expected! 😍

Having it installed wall to wall makes it look super realistic and I don’t think anyone would be able to tell that it’s not authentic brick. Because we scored these panels for only a few cents a piece, this was a super inexpensive DIY with a HUGE impact!

We have one more feature wall to go—SHIPLAP! And this is where we’ll be adding some color. We finally landed on the perfect blue and I’m so excited to share… stay tuned because we’re jumping back into progress this next week!

Can we get it done in just 1-1/2 weeks?! 😳
