My Decor Picks

Personally, I like buying a few new items each year—it helps to stay on trend, while also staying on budget! I have found myself gravitating towards neutral decor this season, with a subtle pop of color. If you’ve been following along, you can probably guess I’m using a shade of blue as my accent color. Personally, I think jewel tones or traditional Christmas colors in deeper tones make for an on-theme, but elevated look.

A few elements I am incorporating into my decor this year are ribbon, antique bells and wood beads. A lot of these are simple investments that will help to elevate any design. I purchased dusty blue ribbon from Amazon, which was more than what you would pay at Micheal’s, but the different in quality is huge and worth the splurge.

Over the years, I have been really impressed by the garland at Target—I purchased a Magnolia brand cedar garland a few years back and it’s still my favorite. Because I had only purchased two strands, I wanted to stock up on some more. I grabbed some from Michaels, Walmart and Target that I’m sharing in my Instagram stories and will save to a highlight.

I am also stocking up on some cute ornaments that coordinate with one another—using color, texture and style. My goal is to create a woodland animal theme that I think the kids will really love. And to top it off, I’m going to attempt to DIY a few ornaments, so stay tuned!

Garland & Wreaths

In my opinion, good garland for an affordable price is hard to find. I’m very picky when it comes to garland looking real, but I also don’t want to pay and arm and a leg!

As for wreaths, when I’ve shopped in person, Kirkland’s tend to be very nice quality with a variety of styles. Target, as with their garland, has some nice wreaths as well. You can always go the DIY route too, and make your own wreath with materials from Michale’s & Hobby Lobby!

Stockings

Every now and again, I find some super cute stockings at HomeGoods, TJMaxx or Marshalls. But if you’re wanting to shop online, Target has a super cute assortment of stockings. Although you can always pick the same stocking for each family member, you can have a lot of fun with mixing and matching. Combining colors, textures and designs creates a unique and personal touch to your Christmas decor. If you understand my love for blue, you better believe I’m getting that incredibly cute speckled blue knit stocking—and the animal design is so cute for the kids!
