Gold & Brass Sconce Lighting I’m Loving
I knew that with a dark blue wall color, a warm metal tone like gold would really pop! I have never used gold and brass fixtures in my own home before—I think for a lot of people my age, they can seem dated. Let’s be honest, brass was the “it” fixture color of the 80’s. However, gold and brass finishes has become popular again, and I think if done correctly, they can be beautiful and timeless. I found a handful of sconces on Amazon and purchased a few to compare in person. These are the gold and brass sconce lighting I’m loving right now!
My Top Picks
- Vintage Industrial Round Globe Adjustable Swing Arm Lamp (Black with Dark Brass Finish)
- Slim Wall Light with Fabric Shade (Antique Brass Finish)
- Lamp Style Swing Arm Sconce (Brushed Gold Finish, with plug-in and hardwire option)
- Vintage Industrial Round Globe Wall Sconce (Antique Gold Finish)
- Vintage Sconce Light with Flared White Fabric Shade (Antique Brass Finish)
I should note that I selected these sconce styles with the idea of using a battery operated lightbulbs. Because our wall isn’t set up with electrical and we’re not quite ready to add that to our to-do list, I decided to use these Remote-Operated, LED Rechargeable Lightbulbs. For this reason, I only selected sconces where the lightbulb would be hidden or partially disguised.
I chose three distinct styles to compare in person. The first (#5 above) is more traditional in my opinion with the white fabric shade. However, seeing it in person I thought it was well balanced with the modern detail of the curved arm (compared to #2 above). The middle option (#3 above) was my top choice when making my purchases. Though I still loved it in person, I felt like it stuck out too much off the wall. This fixture might be better if we had taller ceilings. The last option (#4 above) was probably the furthest outside of my comfort zone in terms of style—Ryan thought it looked very retro. I actually ended up really liking this fixture, but felt it was just a little small for our wall.
All the light fixtures are great quality. They came well packaged with no imperfections, so all are great options—it just depends on your style! I think I made the right call with the warmer metal for these light fixtures. The color palette of deep blue, gold and wood tones compliment one another and create a cozy, moody vibe that helps you settle in and relax.
